I have been very busy this year and it's only March. So that's nice. This makes a change from last year when I was held up for nearly half the year fighting against a reoccurring kidney infection. I had to put all acting and comedy to one side for a few months. Not fun. Anyway, I am back for 2014 and dusting off my blog. So brace yourself as I will be filling you in on all sorts of
The good news is that before Christmas I was asked to do a reading for White Room Theatre’s ‘Bite-Size Plays’ productions which lead to being invited to join the cast for the Brighton Fringe 2014. I am currently working on three comedy plays which will be each ten minutes long. Bite-Size is a theatre experience with a difference as you can have some breakfast while watching the plays. Lovely. If you fancy coming along than please do have a look at us on the Brighton Fringe website by clicking here. We will be at the Latest bar in Kemptown, Brighton at the weekends throughout Brighton Fringe.
Here is me in character for the play 'Bursting' with fellow actor Ben Richardson.
The other week saw 'Team Bite-Size' having a VIP night at The Hotel du Vin to launch the Zequs crowdfunding campaign. We are looking for donations to help towards putting on the plays so they are the very best they can be. If you fancy donating a couple of quid then you can see our Zequs crowdfunding page here. There are plenty of incentives for donating to the campaign which are exclusively from local businesses in Brighton & Hove such as free tickets to see the play, vouchers for House of Hoye, a personal training session, a pamper hamper and so much more...
We had a brilliant night at the Zequs launch with local business people, the Zequs and the Brighton Fringe team attending. We performed four plays in snippets of two minutes in various locations around the hotel.
The launch night at The Hotel du Vin saw me at a possible career high point. I performed a two minute piece of the play 'Bursting' in the ladies lav. (See photo above - we really crammed in the audience) This was of course because the actual play in question is set in a toilet. I wouldn’t do it in there for just a laugh or would I? Maybe.
That's my news for now. I will be keeping you posted about my comedy writing next. As I said earlier, brace yourself.
